BGR,
For starters I ain't no gentleman. And if you look into the classic definition of interest paid it is considered a wage to hire the money. And remember the entity receiving the interest is taxed on it. The same reason employers get to deduct wages paid. The employee pays tax on them. Now I realize socialists like you think that the govt. actually owns everything but as yet that is still not true. If you feel guilty about your prosperity send more money to the govt. Just don't expect the rest of us to go along. When you deposit money in an account and they pay you interest for the use of your moneyt do you then expect them to pay taxes on the money they gave you? Duh!!!
