Look at all the bargins out there, another tech wrek. What happened to all the dipsters? The big boys let them replenish there blood before another letting i see. I wish they would quit selling, my PF is rapidly dwindling.
Tell me about it. Thank goodness for the run-up in AMD (my biggest holding) over the last several months. It's pulled back some over the past several days....but earnings are after the close today. We'll see how that goes.
Since I am, unfortunately, an eternal (but cautious) optimist....I guess I would stick with the argument that this is a short-term industry correction....associated with poor performance of HAS and Mattel's recent software purchases....the transition to 128....and general uncertainly over MSFT and other players. Also, as you know...this industry gets no respect from the Street.
Because ATVI is a small holding, I'm just going to stick it out and perhaps even average down in the near-term. I'm happy to wait a year. Also, atvi is truly a long-term investment. Frustrating as hell, yes. Also, I share your concerns about dilutive acquisitions, inventory issues, uncontrolled expenses and the like. But ATVI is a quality player and as you said, someone has to make the stupid games.
The pr was poorly handled...confusing...etc. But revenues are still not substantially off. Earnings..yes. And that's what really chaps me....the way that was obfuscated. Also, I think that if the company just has more than one hit at one time...we might see a real impact.
On a more "fun" note, SOF looks really good. I'm playing it and it is much improved over the beta/demo that I played earlier. Much more difficult and more strategic. I hear it was sold out at many Best Buy stores. I know you're not playing pc games anymore, but you may want to give it a try. ;-)
I also see one of the ST games is also on the top 10. I think the massively multiplayer star trek game is going to be a great product. That's down the road, but it has potential.
