A couple of semis beating estimates

2) GaSonics International (GSNX) 29 -2 1/4: Semiconductor equipment maker reports Q2 EPS of $0.23, five cents above the First Call mean view, compared to a yr-ago loss of $0.42....
3) Applied Materials (AMAT) 99 13/16 -4 13/16: -- Update -- Robertson Stephens reiterates STRONG BUY and increases FY00 EPS estimates to $2.22 from $2.15 and revenues to $8.8 bln from $8.6 bln; says Q2 is tracking ahead of expectations.
4) Motorola (MOT) 116 15/16 -7 1/16: -- Update -- Gruntal & Co reiterates NT/LT OUTPERFORMER with price target of $200 citing overreaction to handset margins and improved demand outlook for semiconductors, broadband, and cellular.

If the market rallies back, the semis will lead the way. They are having great quarters. Tough to buy other stuff growing at 8-10% when this sector is consistently putting out good news everyday.
