PCS refers to spectrum at the 1.9 GHz band.

The wireless industry has been terrible at naming things for the consumer (no one is to blame due to the nature of the space) ... TDMA, GSM, CDMA, WCDMA, AMPS, analog, digital, 1X, 1XRTT, DS, MC, GPRS, EDGE, 3X, 2G, 2.5G, 3G, bands, dual-band, modes, dual-mode, tri-mode, etc, etc, the list is endless .... a very complex space, moving all the time. |
