"ps - this enthusiasm reminds me of three months ago (1/18?). The next day we were all left scratching our heads!"

If beating the consensus (which kept on being revised upward) by almost 100% doesn't send this stock on a rocket ride tomorrow past its previous intra day, I give up. This is the second quarter in a row AMD has crushed the consensus, and I imagine we will have a rush to upgrade the stock tomorrow. If AMD can fire away with Athlon chips, this company is its own mint. Almost every dollar in revenue above 4Q 2000 this quarter went to profit. What other business can generate greater revenue without greater costs?

"AMD could earn a billion dollars this year!"

You're too low. This quarter validates the optimistic view of AMD's 2000 earnings potential. Here is my projection:

1Q 2000 = $189 M
2Q 2000 = $270 M
3Q 2000 = $360 M (the first full Q of Tbird)
4Q 2000 = $470 M

Total 2000 profit = $1,280,000. I think its time for AMD to start building Fab 35 and to split the stock.
