I can see why you might use NKE. The pattern has much of the same look.

However consider these points. Nike is just a tennis shoe company. Ford is much more. Ford not only embodies the old economy, but incorporates the new.

Much of the B2B thunder is being stolen by the business that were to be their clients. They are big enough to do it themselves. We are seeing a stream of articles about entire segments collaborating with each other to produce industry "intranets" (I use the term loosely). They are building their own systems in automotive, travel, grocery, drugs(?) or medical. I don't remember all the articles I have read.

So Ford brings you the best of both worlds. I am sure they are not being shy about the internet end of things in the B2C area either.

Now add these items: Profits, Ford has the bucks, capital, presence. A progressive attitude. This is a proven company.

Take a look at the weekly chart. Ford has come back to where it was in April 98. Ford has had an entire year to "rest" and prove a new base. Given the intermediate "bear/correction", which we are without a doubt now in, and the fact that we may be in a multi-month correction mode, there is going to be greater pressure for mutuals, clubs, and individuals to find a place to hide.

Using the monthly charts to project a trendline a possible target, I see Ford reaching 90-100 by August.

That's going to suck a lot more money in, than NKE can ever draw.
