If you install AOL 5 and can get your mail, but can't browse the internet, try going into control panel, add/remove programs, internet explorer 5 and internet tools, and choose "restore previous." After that, look for a folder on the AOL cd called win9x and underneath that, msie50. Underneath that run the ie50.exe and that version of IE will work with your AOL 5.

The long and the short of it though is that it (this aol 5 fiasco) does make AOL look less than pristine.
