INTC market cap -- over $400 billion. AMD market cap -- about $11 billion. AMD sees increase in earnings going forward. Lets say they can earn 6 dollars next year. At a multiple of say, 30, which is half the multiple of INTC, that would be 30x6=$180 per share. INTC is not going to do as well as AMD, and could in fact come down to a lower multiple as their near-monopoly status comes into question. It is not hard to imagine incredible growth off such a small market cap -- nor is it likely that a company with a 400 billion market cap has the same kind of growth potential.
