Sam, I've met a lot of analysts and none of them seemed motivated by client agendas.

Analysts are human beings like the rest of us. None are perfect, some are too close to the companies they cover, some like Doug Crook are pretty clueless in my opinion.

Mary Meeker kept an outperform rating on Netscape while Microsoft was smothering it, which I though was a bit too loyal, but everyone knew the story.

But to say don't trust sell-side analysts is to disregard the most important resource there is. I would rather depend on that body of opinion than any other.
