It started long ago with "beating estimates" and traders/analysts used to comment among themselves about certain companys "over concensus" goals. You know, stretch goals.

However they are WAY OUT OF CONTROL NOW. They propogate like the rumors they are, and there is no basis and NO OWNERSHIP. There are a number of websites that purvey this crap, and I don't visit them or tell people about them.

I believe that this does investors a tremendous dis-service and ruins a lot of hard work by companies delivering good solid results. In the end it hurts us all.

As TD pointed out (and I've corroborated independently...) PMCS will NOT come anywhere near that number of .22, which is TOTALLY BOGUS. They've got acquisitions to account for, among other things.

If you know of site purveying this garbage, don't use them. CNBC is also getting into the act, as certain hosts and guests are openly commenting on the lack of credibility this analysis offers.

Don't become part of whisper mentality. Go with First Call or Zacks concensus estimates.
