Buy and hold is fine with big companies like CSCO, ORCL, But even the bigs are not worth holding when they story changes, like MSFT has. But stocks like BRCM are not even in the same league as the bigs so you should have an exit plan.

Right now I'm looking at what to buy, and wondering if we will get a sudden rise or a limp bottom. Very hard to know that till it happens. We need a catalyst, something to heat it up. If earnings can't do it, then what will? Something to look for. A bear market or declining market is one the is categorized by buying in the morning and sharp selling in the afternoon, which makes great sense when you think about it. So when you see a change in early buying and late selling, to early selling and late buying you can start to think about entering back in. We had all the signs of a top, now we need to see the signs of a bottom.
