Grimspam missed my whole point on decimalization this morning.
He sort of sluffed it off as not important, affecting only the
increment in which stocks trade. While that is true, I desire
to have decimalization enacted, post haste. These guys have
been talking about this for years, no reason that it can not
implemented via computer, NOW. I am tired of seeing a trade
go across at 23 3/8 and followed by one at 23 93/256. The
human mind cannot immediately grasp this as a trade at 23.375
and followed by one 23.36328125. Thus the ability for investors
to grasp whether the price of a stock is falling or climbing
is impaired. It seems to me that trading stocks in cents (read
sense), would make the price much more apparent and thus more
liquid. The above trade would be 23.38 and followed by 23.36.
