Steve, I Wouldn't Sweat It. The Majority of the Thread Could Care Less When It Comes to Splitting Hairs.

The bottom line is that the previous owners were (innocently) careless with the Hg an it has entered the food chain and is now causing the nasties to the locals. Hub can give you the gory details. So when a baseline environmenal study is done it establishes what was caused by the predecessor (and/or sometimes defunct company). Typically when a Canadian company goes into a foreign country, it is bound by the ethical standards of the host country or major JV partner (whichever standards are higher), and any "Canadian major" (and also junior) will live up to extremely high (Canadian) environmental standards. I believe that most of the exudos of Canadian companies to the third world is for tax considerations not (primarily) for environmental reasons.

Well, Steve do you think we dodged the bullet? Canuc was at 1.55 (NC) it was only one 10,000 block @1.47(last trade) brought the price down today. Do you see any further downside once Bre-X resumes trading? I think that we may have seen the downside on the first news on Bre-X.

Cheers Winzer
