I agree with you on the power of options to keep a stock price down. Recent experience with the COMS/PALM IPO, where a huge build up in the open number of high strike price and OTM calls on COMS had taken place, showed how fast a stock can be taken down to render those options worthless.

FWIW, the BCA options analysis shows that the total value of all open AMD option contracts (as of the 4/12 close) is about $200 million at $75 on the stock:

Every $1 increase in AMD costs the options holders about $8 million, so if the stock runs to 85 that's another $80 million they have to shell out. Go to $100, and they'll be in the hole for about another $120 million on top of that. Keep buying guys, I love to see these options MM's get hurt a little now and then.
