I am not sure that because she was under the influence of drugs that it was a mitigated circumstance. She was responsible for her actions. We all should be.

Your response about her not being a threat in the prison population is probably true, but I am not sure I would extend the same thinking to the civilian population. What if she fell off the wagon and resumed her drug use? Would not be the first time that has happened.

We may have some corruption(and favoritism) in our judicial system, but it is what we have to rely on. I do think the idea of life with absolutely no chance of parole should be looked at hard. I believe there is a way to do that and it not become a "country club" for killers or one big gang with-in a wall.

Oh, and in Carla Faye Tuckers case, I believe the only thing GWB could have done is issued a 30 day stay. There was no evidence from all the appeals of the courts and none from the commission that reviews the case before it went to him to think 30 days would have made a difference, unless one just wanted to look at the fact that she was a she.
