Jim,

is the suit an act of desperation by RAMBUS backed by Intel or does Rambus really have a case?

Do you work for free? Do you give back your paycheck? If your employer came to you and said we're not going to pay you anymore, would you say "okay" and keep on working?

Should companies just give away their products?

Or do you believe that people should get paid for the work they do and the value they bring to the table.

That's all Rambus is trying to do -- make sure that they get paid for the work they've done for the last 10 years. The IP is their work product. That's what they've invented. Hitachi is trying to use their invention without paying for it. It's no different than Oracle going after someone who's running a copy of their database program without paying for it. Or a store clerk going after someone who took a candy bar without paying for it. You don't use someone else work product without paying for it.

Is that hard to understand?

Dave
