More conspiracy theory thots:

Actually its probably a mixture of stuff: w ay overbought NAZ, houses/wall street trying to bring it down, things go out of control, etc. I'm still very suspicious because of MSFT analyst "warning" yesterday before the open--timing too suspicious for me anyway.

But listening to Greenie and others today (which I rarely do) I realized there's somethign else going on and its war. It's war of the old guard/street/NYSE, the guys who as they said today, made this great boom economy what it is etc, but now are becoming dinosaurs in a sense, no longer privileged, no longer in control of the same amount of information. Playing field levelled and the little guy was getting too rich. I think there's an element of this psychology in here though its not the whole thing, but I think they are pissed off and getting back at "us". Maybe trying to scare us out of our supposed arrogance. But reading stories on this porch and sentiments all over SI the fact is we're in this market even if we take punches, we come right back in. I don't think they'll ever get anything like the old days back.

In any case, that extra bit of vengefulness counts for something in this whole equation. And I bet it will go on for some time. They won't die a gracious death.
