Don, here's a study on ink permanence. wilhelm-research.com or more specifically, wilhelm-research.com The epson 870,875 & 1270 (13"x44") are good printers for a new reason The above pdf file shows that on these 870 & 1270 prints last as long as : epson photo paper : 6-7yrs epson matte paper : 24-26 yrs. Some prints on older printers will last < 1 yr before noticable fading fades. There's also info on some very long lasting archive paper if you feel the need to have something that will outlast many of us on this board. Hope that's useful to help you hunt for a printer.
