Oh, I don't think any child ever accepted it as natural that the prince got a much larger slice of pie, but were forced to accept it as inevitable. But remember, "uneasy lies the head that wears the crown." In many cultures, for example the Ottoman Turks, the king killed all his siblings when he ascended the throne, to keep from being murdered himself.
