Isn't that because when you buy an option, you're betting against someone with much more money than you? They wouldn't be in THAT game if they couldn't control it.

Do you know the ratio of short term to mid term to long term options - that are purchased? Are there a LOT more short term? That would make sense. These guys can only control the April $70s & $80s, but can do little to the April $45s that were purchased further out. I'm just trying to get a handle on these, I'm think of going in on a few companies. Probably leaps.
