Don't know who Paul Wolfowitz is, but I know what you mean about the foreign policy establishment. It is more like inbred than ingrown. Whoever the individuals are who are chosen to serve in the cabinet, I think it's safe to say they will have attended the proper roundtables and councils to get to where they are. Ms. Rice sounds great on the stump, but I have to confess I am interested in seeing her promoted because she is a young, attractive, black conservative woman. Yes, I know it is very shallow to put symbolism over substance, but so what? Symbols are powerful, and nothing would discomfit liberals more than a black conservative woman gaining prominence. And discomfitted liberals make me happy.
