Jim Bunning was a truly great pitcher, but I'm beginning to wonder if he should have stayed out of politics. That exchange with Greenspan today has to be one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen. First of all, I'm not sure how he came to the conclusion that Greenspan is plotting to bring down the stock market. We'll have to send Fleckenstein up to Capitol Hill to disabuse him of that notion.<g> But even if he's right, why would he have a problem with it? A Greenspan induced market crash would be the best thing a Fed Chairman has done for the Republicans since Paul Volcker brought the economy to its knees right before the 1980 elections. (Don't get me wrong, Volcker did the right thing regardless of the political consequences).

Makes me wonder if Mr. Bunning is one of those people we're reading about who used a wee bit too much margin.
