Some people have been punished over and over all their lives; so that, they know the reward and punishment system better than anyone. Yet they continue, as far as I know unsuccessfully, to try and beat the system. In addition to teaching an understanding of social ramification, it is very important to nurture an understanding of doing "goodness for goodness sake." Some people will stand against all kinds of adversity for this principle alone.
