If the other computer sounds come out of the same speakers that the music normally plays on, it's not the speakers. If the music uses the speakers, but other sounds come from the PC's internal speaker, you need to check to see that the speakers are plugged in, turned-on, all that stuff.

Now if *all* sound normally comes from the speakers, but now you're only getting the PC sounds (not the music), the next step is to check your music cd software. So do this:

Go to the start button..click it.

Go to: Programs > Accessories > CD Player...click on that.

Put the music cd in the drive.

Now look at the CD Player window...is it incrimenting? Is there anything that looks wrong? What do you see?
