Are you for real Roger ???

You must not be too involved in the technology.

If you had of posted this twelve months ago, it was probably right on the money, now however with the sell off of wordperfect and Unixware, combined with Microsoft taking their eye off Novell and targeting Netscape, the Future looks FANTASTIC.

Look at their key technologies and then compare them against their competitors i.e. Microsoft

Directory Services - Microsoft Has nothing and has dropped their directory push,

Distributed File Systems - Novell will ship this as the next realse after Green River - you will probably see this 2nd Quarter next year, at least twelve months ahead of Cairo

Groupwise 4 - Leaves Exchange for dead and requires nowhere near the supporting infrastructure - Groupwise XTD (Now GW 5) which will debut in September will be at least a generation ahead of Exchange

Network Management - Managewise against SMS is not even a contest.

I am both a Novell Master CNE and a Microsoft CSE and I own and run a business which is both a Novell Platinum and a Microsoft Solutions Provider and I have to work with and sell these solutions everyday.

THe Internet has given Novell the breathing space they needed and will ultimately provide the diversity of opportunities that companies that are in opposition to Microsoft need to survive.

regards

Craig
