Kenneth Lee:

Comment: Thank you for once again emphasizing, as did I at the time of my $100 prediction, the basis for the prediction: The huge comparative valuation discrepancy based upon financial ratios between AMD and other companies in the same sector, a second successive record breaking quarter in what could easily, come Y2000 year end, be the second of five successive record breaking quarters...And yes I did think there was a reasonable probability that AMD would test $100 yesterday and no, not even armed with 50/50 hindsight, do I think it was as ridiculous a projection as some here have been so quick to point, particularly within the context of several abrupt 30% moves over the past 6 months as a precedent...I was wrong...but fortunately with AMD I usually only purchase calls with a time frame of at least 1 month and usually 3 months...consequently I'm confident that July calls purchased while AMD is under $100 will provide an above average ROI...As GopherBroke and Scumbria have pointed out, January 2001 calls look even more attractive than Julys...

(I must confess that I did depart from my overall call purchase strategy and bought a fair whack of Apr 70's and Apr 75's on the basis of my optimistic $100 projection and will hold them through Intel's earnings next week as Nasdaq and AMD could well be oversold at this point and positive Intel earnings creates the possibility of a significant bounce back)...
