ConSyGen's Australian Partner Announces Former Premier and Treasurer of New South Wales as New Advisory Board Member
SYDNEY, Australia, Apr 14, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Notremos Corporation Pty Ltd announced today that the Hon Nick Greiner AC has agreed to join Notremos' Advisory Board.
Notremos' Chairman and Chief executive Rick Somerton said, "We are all extremely excited to have someone of the calibre of Mr. Greiner agree to help us achieve our goals. We have a number of exciting internet projects under development including the MyBizPay(TM) payments system which we think is the killer application of the WAP and Financial Services market. Nick's experience in both the old and new economies will be invaluable as we move rapidly forward."
Nick Greiner commented, "I was pleased to be invited to join the advisory board. Notremos' approach to taking proven international business models and applying them here makes a great deal of sense. I think they have an opportunity to build a large and exciting business." Mr. Greiner is Chairman of leading e-trader dStore (www.dstore.com.au) and leading Internet advertising company BMCMedia, as well as other public and private companies.
On March 25, 2000 Notremos and ConSyGen Inc., Phoenix, Arizona announced that after substantial discussions the two companies had agreed on a strategy for the introduction of ConSyGen's proprietary software BizPay(TM) to the Australian market. The companies have agreed to pursue a joint venture in regards to the BizPay(TM) rollout in Australia and to cooperate on further international implementations. The companies intend to deploy a complete Internet based payment system in Australia this summer.
"We are very happy to see Mr. Greiner join Notremos. This is exactly the reason ConSyGen sees value in Notremos," said Jason Genet ConSyGen's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Genet went on to say, "We feel BizPay(TM) and it's product suite will set new standards for the way commerce is conducted on the Web and 'Brick and Mortar World' proving ConSyGen is an E-Commerce leader."
BizPay(TM) will provide a secure Person-to-Person (P2P) and Business to Consumer (B2C) payment mechanism and, in the future Business to Business (B2B), which will be available to over 6 million current Australian Internet users and merchants. Consumers will now be secure in knowing that it is not necessary to disclose their credit card information on the Internet for purchases or payments.
Merchants will benefit from the increased confidence consumers will have in online transactions. BizPay(TM) will enable merchants to accept credit car0.d payments without having a credit card merchant account. Historically, anyone with a credit card or debit card was able to participate on the payment side of a transaction, but not necessarily on the acceptance side of a transaction. With ConSyGen's BizPay(TM) software solution merchants and individuals can now accept any form of electronic payment without having a traditional merchant credit card account. This solution opens the door for full participation in Internet Commerce for both consumer and merchant. BizPayMobile(TM), which will use WAP and Bluetooth(TM) standards and technology, will be released later this year. BizPayMobile(TM) will allow consumers as well as merchant to conduct commerce on wireless devices such as mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistants (PDA). At the time, ConSyGen's Vice President of Business Development, John Roskelley, stated, "What will make BizPayMobile(TM) a very unique product is that it's not only a consumer payment solution, but it will also be a merchant payment acceptance solution. More and more merchants will be wireless device enabled in their stores, moving transactions away from the traditional cash registers and credit/debit card-reading terminals. We will enable merchants with a wireless solution allowing them to finalize a consumer purchase anywhere within their store."
