HIPAA-Healthcare insurance portability and availability act requires that all insurance companies will need to comply with uniform codes for electronic interchange. On line electronic interchange of information is the future of healthcare. Precertifications, checking for eligilbility of insurance, copays and sending in electronic claims to health insurers is coming and will be a requirement just like the y2k. Just think of what y2k was for a few years. It was not until the last year that it was really big , even though it was known for several years. This HIPPA/Hipaa act will be a real boom for companies like HLTH. I just spoke with a rep for Covad which handles DSL lines. With WEBMD we will be able to see video of conferences for continuing medical education credits. This company is limitless.
