Sorry, I didn't clarify what I meant by "group think." This is a specific phenomena used in the study of groups and teams. It is quite common for a group to be formed to accomplish some task lets. Lets say they get along great and do a great job. So, they push to stay together and do more projects. Now the team has strong collegiality. Some times a bad idea is suggested within the group but it is not dismissed or even criticised because no one wants to upset the group's other dynamics. Now bad ideas start to get support. This is known in Psychology as "group think". My reference to a "free thinking" individual wasn't for a nature boy but for anyone who would be outside the influences of the group think influences. It could even be regarding one issue and not others.

My fault. I wasn't clear in the first place. Hope this is a little better.
