Keith, Aspect maintains a database and sophisticated search software for parts. Their electronic parts database has literally millions of entries and is continually being updated. (Data input from manufacturers is entered in India). The database allows someone designing any sort of electronic device to specify what he wants, and the software shows him the specs, prices and availability of components. The searches can be very complex and enterprises use the software to procure what they need and to budget for projects. There are high barriers to entry in that the data base is extensive and the search engines proprietary. I am sure that someone else will be able to better explain, but that is my understanding in a nutshell. Companies with Aspect products save money and are able to speed up the design process. Customers are showing such competitive advantages, that the software is becoming "mission critical" for them to complete designs fast enough. Hope that helps; Mark, please add your comments, Elliot
