it seems that way. however, last week on Tuesday, when they rescued the NAZ i believe they did so to create a final distribution rally. some of the bigger hedgies were surprised by the swift decline and hadn't had a chance to get out. that was then accomplished between Wednesday and Friday last week.

as far as i can see neither the public at large, nor the margined traders, nor the Europeans, nor the big mutual funds have panicked yet.

in '87, Fido started the Monday of the BK off with some 1,5 billion dollars in sell orders.

this time i believe the big funds will TRY to rescue the market...but their cash levels are low, and all it takes is one or two breaking ranks...
