Good question, I don't pay much attention to any analyst and pretty much prefer to make my own decisions. However, the market being what it is likes to get opinions rather than performing hard work.

I was referring to the practice by some of basically pretending to be instant experts by putting up an official looking website, or hosting a private chat, or getting some stationery. When that person pays the few hundred dollar fee to get something on the PR wire or just publishes it in a website, it is intended to create price movement up or down.

Some of these characters (longs and shorts) do this with the intent of convincing others that they somehow are better than the ordinary BB poster or chatter and that their opinions somehow count more. Often times, the content of the opinion is nothing more than a rehashed SEC filing or other old "news", intended to scare the audience into making a decision one way or another.

Although this is an attempt at manipulation, this is not the type of manipulation to which I refer when I bring up the SEC Act and regulations thereunder.
