Nokia delivers WAP technology to ONE of Austria

HELSINKI, FinlandApril 14, 2000--Nokia has supplied the
Nokia Artus Messaging Platform to Austrian operator ONE enabling the delivery of WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) services to its customers.

Nokia Artus Messaging Platform acts as gateway between information and applications on the Internet and a mobile phone.

Information on the Internet such as news or stock quotes can be accessed in seconds. Nokia Artus Messaging Platform also makes it possible to access Web applications such as games or e-commerce.

WAP security enables encryption and authentication for traffic between a WAP-enabled device and Messaging Platform through support of Wireless Transport Layer Security (WTLS). Messaging Platform also provides a secure Internet connection through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).

"ONE has now launched its WAP portal and will initially target business customers. In the first phase we will offer an online organizer which includes features like an address book, to-do-lists or a SMS-reminder-system for important
appointments", said Jurgen Peetz, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) ONE.

"The end-user can access data via a WAP phone or PC. Nokia Artus Messaging Platform is an optimal WAP gateway which brings information from the Internet to the WAP-phone quickly, securely, and reliably."
