Rande, I love all your questions. LOL!! If it will contribute to your research, you might be interested to know that I just contributed the max amount of $2,000 in my traditional IRA to a money market fund. Told the "advisor" who was "advising" me that I had enough money in the stock market already, and that I was happy to take the 5-percent + yield of the money market fund. It might also interest you to know that last month, I opened up a CD at 6.35 percent APY. Still sticking with my mutual funds, which are very conservative, have a low expense ratio, and have a good record of returns. I noted in IBD that as of this morning, I'm about even with the beginning of the year on gains in those funds.
