The Dog in the Apple is indeed a site for sore eyes. However, I became pretty good at riding the train over to Connecticut...I love that Grand Central Station. Somehow I always think that some vixen will sashay up to me and change my life. Hasn't happened yet. Love that Oyster Bar in the belly of Grand Central!

But it was the place with the $23 hamburger (fries extra) that confirmed my love for Big Earls BBQ where a heaping helping of ribs and sausage with the trimmin's is only about $6. Folks in the Big Red Un must have more money than sense. I brought the menu form that restaurant home and showed Big Earl. He almost fell down...then started wondering what those NY folks would pay for his BBQ. It was a delightful foray into the world of new math.

I am still haunted by my grandmother's scorn everytime I pay more than 10 cents for a cup of coffee.

Basically, The Dog is cheap - at least by NY standards.
