If I were Elian's father, to protect him from harm, I'd climb the highest mountain, swim the deepest sea, fight any man or beast. I would do anything, anything to protect him from danger.

I would thank God that Elian was out of Castro's clutches when he arrived in Miami. I would give my thanks to God, I would with relief, accept my grief, to save Elian.

I would do anything for Elain. Including give him freedom.
