I agree this is part of the game. But the game is also a matter of perception, in that 'ol famous saying of perception is reality. And if the herd gets the bejeezus scared out of them even more over the next few trading days than they have today.....well, my bet is perception will swing from overly positive investing attitudes, to overly pessimistic attitudes, and once attitudes change they tend to get locked in for a not insignificant length of time. This not to mention what damage done to their capital base does to their ability to invest.

I guess what I'm trying to say is the easy days just might be over. These bear days could go on for a weee bit longer than those recent events you've pointed out. But hey, the slide's only been going on for about 3 weeks or so; so maybe I'm just whistling past the cemetery.

One things for sure....FUD will reign supreme come Monday morning, what with everyone having the week-end to mull over the mauling of their investment portfolio(s).
