William, I generally agree with you. I still have a problem with expectations for profits - I think many analysts are too optimistic about the levels of margins even the best companies such as Amazon will be able to achieve. Despite a few blunders, I believe Bezos and cadre have maneuvered the company pretty well: captured huge stock valuation. Parlayed that into cheap debt financing. And built an admirable volume of business and brand name. This is a good company and worth buying now at this price. If it gets crushed further, it should recover to this level again.

I think the market is near the point of reversal. Up to last week I thought that the techs heavy nasdaq would move up ahead of earnings as it has generally done in the past few quarters. I seriously had planned to buy puts or short many of the high flyers. I did buy a few puts but not nearly to the degree I expected to do this week and next - about when I thought the good earnings would spike the market. I guess I'm telling this to show what an idiot can do in trying to time the market!
