Ciao, them newbies are learnin', the hard way. I don't see as many of them struttin their stuff these days. I figure a few got plucked today. It's too bad, but there were numerous red flags over the last 3 months. It was probably a pretty good wake up call for some pros too.
WRT new picks, I'm steering clear of techs 'til August or thereabouts, with the exception of some very selective bottom feeding - perhaps. There's still a ton of overpriced junk out there, and I think we'll see more selloffs.
Anyway, as mentioned before, I like the energy sector. In particular, V.BEC (Jr) and T.TLM (Sr). TLM can be played for the long term, or flipped for $4-$6 per share. I expect BEC to achieve significant cash flow by year end. They'll do this through a combination of the drill bit and acquisitions. As of last week, BEC planned on drilling: 7 wells in Q2, 12 wells in Q3, and 8 wells in Q4. They're also headed to the TSE - guaranteed. They trade pretty thin, but that will change after the CJE merger.
P.S. Glad to hear you got some more TOMmy. I still like 'em.
Ciao,
