Elmer, There seems to an imbalance in the way you measure demand limited. As we speak there is a scarcity of Intel parts but many mobos for those parts. There is a scarcity of AMD mobos but many AMD parts for those mobos and as each mobo come off the line it gets an Athlon right away. Many lonely Intel motherboards yearn for the pitter patter of many small pins in their sockets.
So both are suffering from supply chain imbalances. the demand for Intel parts is huge and will consume all the AThlons that mobos are made for as the screwdrivers shops look for a sellable solution.
As we speak AMD is getting the new socket based motherbaorsd lined up for volume production and soon the new mobos will be there in volume. the mobo makers are all on side now so the delay will ba far smaller than the 6 months delay before mobos were available in volume for the Athlons. There may well be a balanced launch with all parts ready at the same time? I can dream, can't I.
