hi e,

i think your friends are giving you solid advice. win98 is a fine operating system and if you are not antsy to try something else, there is no compelling reason that i can think of that would make you want to migrate to win2000.

i have read that it is much more stable than previous operating systems. otoh, i've heard that there are numerous compatibility problems with peripheral devices, and that it really isn't designed for personal desktops, but for biz applications.

i hope someone corrects me if i'm off the mark on any of the above, as i do not have any first hand knowledge of win2000. i vote for keeping what you have and getting the most out if it that you can. <g3>
