as of monday, after a transfer hits my trading account, I will be less then $10k on margin and will not have to worry about being forced to sell, and may even be able to pick up a few bargains at the same time.

Yes but what about those who didn't have $ for a transfer? I rode out last week okay but...

A short week and options expiry...very volatile.

And I was following your thinking but now I regret it. I appreciate your optimism--but if it's misguided and we break through 3000---well then----I'm not sure its the risk. Maybe go to cash and either pick up bargains on a retest after a bounce, or pick up bargains on continued selloff would be wiser.
