I am in the same camp with you guys. I'm very cheap, but still want quality. There are only a small number of things where quality is so important that price is no object (tools and athletic equipment mainly).

Diana, I think we might actually get along if thrown together. Women with common sense are very rare, at least around here. At my age (late 30's) that has become a very important personality trait I look for. You have plenty of common sense.

Big, don't be surprised if Big Earl raises his prices on you! :o)

Speaking of Athletic equipment, time to get the "girly blades" out and have some fun!
