Jim,
Take a look at Scumbria profile and the quotation he gives. He is not for real IMO!
He's for real. I don't read the Intel or AMD threads actively but I believe he, Tenchusatsu, Paul Engel, et. al. have some reasonable discussions. Believe me, I'd rather have him than some of the others we seem to be attracting lately. At least he knows what he's talking about (even if his opinions vary), has been around the Rambus issue for awhile so he doesn't make completely bizarro statements (as some who appear to have been in suspended animation for the last 3-6 months do), and is civil when spoken to civilly. But he has an agenda, as do we all, generally in support of AMD.

p.s. For all the arguing we do on the board, I think it pays to keep in mind that Rambus has not won the game nor have they lost. What we're doing is arguing about who's going to win the game when we're still in the first inning. Each side is claiming that Rambus is going to be a winner or loser based on the equivalent of the lead off batter getting a single or thrown out in the first inning. Well, to win, you have to score runs, and to score runs you have to get men on base. Whether it was delayed or not, chipsets with Rambus support are now shipping. And the price is coming down. So we at least have a couple of men on base. But there's still a lot of game left.
God, I hate sports analogies. But they work so well <G>. |
