I think I found a better way to review historical intraday than storing it to .gif files. I'm working on a Java interface that will retrieve and plot the data with a couple of mouse clicks. The only limitations of Java that I know of is that I won't be able to access QFeed because their interface is written in C++. But all the data from excite and Yahoo! is readily accessible.

I wouldn't download the SPX files manually, I think it can be readily programmed by writing a macro in the spreadsheet or writing a Java routine to do it.
