I have tried to warn about the market one-two punch and especially the danger of being margined during this period. I hope I haven't annoyed too many people.

I have just completed the charts for the week and discovered an interesting situation. The charts all show the same thing: Price down FAR more than the demand drop calls for because the high volume drive is not there, even with margin calls. I think that tells me that the specialists and market makers were all heavily short BEFORE THE DROP STARTED AND COLLECTIVELY FORCED THIS "MARKET EVENT". If it can be checked I would bet that we would find they as a group held a majority, well over 50%, of the short shares and forced the market down. Does anyone know of a way to find out?

QQQ and DIA are market suregates and heavily traded by the specialists and MMs. They are trying to take QQQ (Nasdaq) down into the $60s and DIA to $100. The DJIA chart is looking for a place to turn up. The only way to stop a correction is to start buying because you know the economy is OK, overall earnings will be excellent, inflation is really under control, the Fed probably will not increase rates again before the election. Note: Greenspan's decisions cost Bush his election and just cost Gore his.

I bought a little Thursday and some more Friday afternoon.
Good luck to all next week.
