Nicholson: As Clinton and Gore Politicize Tragedies, They Panhandle from the Hollywood Elite That Made Them Possible
WASHINGTON, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Republican National Committee Chairman Jim Nicholson issued the following statement today in response to the president's radio address on youth violence:
``For seven long years, Bill Clinton and Al Gore have shamelessly politicized and taken advantage of national tragedies, ignoring the culture of death that is at the root of youth violence in America today -- a distorted culture being contrived by the films, television programs, and music videos that pass for 'entertainment' in the twisted, coarse and profit-driven Hollywood of today.
``Rather than using their formidable influence to affect the producers, writers, directors, investors, actors and actresses who are so supportive of them, Al Gore and Bill Clinton have instead chosen to play the role of panhandlers among the Hollywood elite. In short, they have treated these purveyors of popular culture much as they did Indonesian money magnates, Buddhist nuns, and Chinese Generals -- as ATMs for campaign cash.
