Off-topic. 'Just finished reading "The New New Thing [a Silicon Valley Story]" by Michael Lewis.

Basically, it's a biography of Jim Clark, Silicon Graphics, Netscape and Healtheon. But it is much more than that; an excellent look into one of the minds that has been and continues to drive the leading edge of 'high technology thinking' in this new century.

The book is very well written, it flows well and it is terribly funny.

Lewis is a great writer. I am going to go back and read his earlier "Liars Poker" and "The Money Culture."

This is one of the best books (non-fiction or fiction) that I have ever read ... and I read 40-60 books a year. It is
available at B&N on-line for $16.96 including shipping.

The next two are also excellent - all three are, in my opinion, must reads for tech stocks investors - especially at a time when we all could use some perspective.

"Dealers of Lightening - Xerox PARC" (that produced Jim Clark) by Michael Hiltzik, 1999

"Where Wizards Stay Up Late" (about the original development of the internet at DARPA and BBN) by Hafner, Katie and Lion, 1998 (estimate)
