Company Press Release

HP chooses Iomega's internal Zip drive for its
small-business, commercial and performance Vectra PCs

ROY, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1997--Iomega Corp. (NYSE:IOM) Tuesday
announced that Hewlett-Packard Co. is currently shipping the Zip drive as an optional feature of its
HP Vectra V-line of commercial PCs, X-line PC workstations and HP Vectra 500 Series PCs for
small businesses.

The announcement reinforces the Zip drive's viability as a corporate personal storage device for the
multimedia age, delivering a highly flexible, expandable and reliable solution for managing, sharing
and backing up personal business data.

The Zip drive is now available worldwide as an internal option on the HP Vectra VE, VL and VA
commercial PCs for business customers and on the HP Vectra XA, XU and XW PC Workstations
for performance demanding business and technical customers.

It is also available as an accessory for HP's small-business PC line, the HP Vectra 500 Series,
allowing small businesses to easily add the Zip drive to their PCs to meet evolving needs.

``HP Vectra PC customers, like most business people today, use data-intensive applications for
on-line downloads, financial, graphics and multimedia applications,'' said Rob Wait, product line
manager, HP's Commercial Desktop Computer Division. ``They need not only a reliable and
expandable means of storing and backing up data, but also a highly portable solution enabling them
to transport and share files with colleagues and customers.''

``HP became a worldwide leader in business computing by providing its customers affordable,
high-quality solutions that increase productivity,'' said Andy Grolnick, director, Zip OEM product
management. ``HP's endorsement of Zip as a critical component of today's business PC continues
their strong tradition of delivering on customer needs.''

With more than five million Zip drive shipments worldwide, Iomega's Zip disks provide 70 times the
capacity of traditional floppy disks at 20 times the speed, giving consumers unlimited capacity in
100MB increments, increased flexibility and a built-in backup system. Fast enough to run
applications and multimedia, the Zip drive brings a new dimension of flexibility to today's powerful
MMX, Pentium and Pentium Pro-based personal computers.

The Zip drive has also been available as a feature in certain models of HP's Pavilion home PCs.

Zip drives and disks are available through VARs, resellers, system integrators and distributors.
Iomega's Zip drive is also available as a standard or optional feature in many computer models from
top PC vendors around the world including Apple, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, HP, IBM, Micron,
Motorola, Packard Bell NEC, Power Computing, UMAX and Unisys.
