Writing CNC Leap Puts look like an excellent investment at the moment. The stock is way oversold, and the break-even point for Jan 02 $7-1/2 Puts is around $4-1/2, which I doubt we'll ever see.

CNC has some issues with Green Tree at the moment, but the free cash flow is very strong. I think management overpaid for the Green Tree investment, but I don't see GT pulling the company into BK or penny stock status. The decision to buy GT was always controversial with the street, and management has decided to sell GT. I think the decision to sell is more related to the sentiment on the street, and the drag on the overall stock price.

The insurance end of CNC is doing fine, and management says it is getting lots of inquiries for GT, which it has announced it will sell.
